Bradford Classic Car Show

Last weekend saw the 11th Bradford Classic Car Show in Bradford City Park. It was my first visit to an event there and I was suitably impressed. What a great asset for the city.

The crowds turned out, the weather stayed fine and we were spoilt for subjects to sketch with over a hundred vehicles on display. We had pre war cars, old police cars, classic British and American cars and even an old red London double decker bus.

Some terrific live music provided a welcome accompaniment to the sketching, although toe tapping with a sketchbook balanced on a knee makes sketching a little problematic.

Thanks to Gina for organising and especially the end of sketch tea, coffee and cakes. Her home baked lemon drizzle was delicious. Could we have a future ‘Bake off’ star in our ranks.

Here are my sketches from the event.
